Panelist legal

Cookie Policy

How Panelist uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies, and how to control them.

Last updated 6 October 2026

The short version

FCR RSC Pty Ltd (ABN 37 682 852 213), trading as Panelist ("Panelist", "we", "us", "our"), uses essential cookies and similar technologies to run Panelist. With your permission, we also use cookies for analytics, advertising and session replay.

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in, keep the Service secure and remember your choices. Our banner does not turn them off.
  • Sentry error monitoring runs whether or not you accept cookies, so we can find and fix faults.
  • Until you click Accept on our cookie banner, our page tells Google's tags that analytics and advertising storage is denied, and Sentry Session Replay does not start.
  • Google Tag Manager may load after your first interaction with a page or a short delay, even if you have not clicked Accept.
  • Some features, such as payments, use cookies from other providers that our banner does not control.
  • Emails sent through Panelist may contain pixels and tracked links that tell the sender whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
  • To change your choice, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser, and the banner will ask you again.

1. What cookies are and how we use them

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local and session storage, which keep information in your browser; pixels and tags, which report that a page was viewed or an email was opened; and software kits in our mobile apps. In this policy we call them all "cookies". Some are set by Panelist and some by the providers named below.

CategoryWhat it doesTools and providersYour choice

Features from other providersTakes payments, protects forms from automated abuse, and suggests places as you typeStripe (Stripe); reCAPTCHA and Maps (Google)Not controlled by our banner

AdvertisingMeasures our own advertising and, after you click Accept, lets Google use data for advertising, including ad personalisationGoogle advertising tags, through Google Tag Manager (Google)Storage denied until you click Accept

Panelist's browser storage may hold your settings, such as camera and microphone choices, and unfinished work, such as an email draft. It may also hold a copy of information you have viewed, such as your inbox list, so that pages load quickly.

Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. Other cookies and storage stay until they expire or you clear your browser's site data, and Panelist may remove them sooner, for example when you sign out. Google sets the lifetimes of its own cookies, and Stripe and Google set the cookies for their features under their own policies.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including which providers we use and where they are based.

2. Google Tag Manager and Consent Mode

Our website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google's analytics and advertising tags. It works like this:

  1. Before Google Tag Manager loads, our page sets Google Consent Mode to denied for analytics storage, advertising storage, and the use of data for advertising and ad personalisation.
  2. Google Tag Manager may load on your first click, key press, scroll or touch, or after a short delay, even if you have not clicked Accept.
  3. While these settings are denied, Google's tags are designed not to set analytics or advertising cookies. They may still send Google limited information without cookies, such as that a page was viewed, together with details that every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type.
  4. If you click Accept, our page tells Google that all four settings are granted. Google's tags may then set cookies, and Google may use data from Panelist for advertising, including ad personalisation. If you click Decline, they stay denied.

Google handles this information under its own policies, and describes its cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

3. Sentry error monitoring and session replay

Error monitoring runs whether or not you accept cookies, because we treat it as essential to keeping the Service working. When something goes wrong, Sentry receives a report with the error, the page you were on, your browser and device, the version of Panelist, your IP address and a short trail of recent events, such as pages visited, elements clicked, network requests and app log messages. A report may include your Panelist account identifier, and personal information that appears in a web address or log message, such as an email address. Sentry also receives performance data from a sample of page loads.

Session replay starts only after you click Accept. It records how a page behaves during a visit, so we can see what led to a problem. It is set up to:

  • mask the text on each page and block images and video;
  • record a sample of visits in full, and other visits only from shortly before an error, if one happens; and
  • pause on live session pages.

If you decline, session replay does not start. To change your choice, see How to control cookies.

4. Emails and event pages

Emails sent through Panelist, including campaign emails that Hosts and other Customers send to their contacts, may contain pixels and tracked links that record opens and clicks:

  • Pixels: a tiny image in the email. When your email app loads it, Panelist records that the email was opened, and when. A read receipt that a sender asks for works the same way.
  • Tracked links: links that pass through Panelist before taking you to their destination, so that Panelist can record the click.
  • Who sees the results: the organisation that sent the email, in its Panelist account, including on your record in its CRM. That organisation decides how to use them and is responsible for that use (see our Host Agreement).
  • Accuracy: some email apps load images automatically and others block them, so opens can be over- or under-reported.

You can usually stop pixels by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.

Event pages are run by their Hosts on Panelist, sometimes on the Host's own domain. Your cookie choice is saved separately for each website address, so you may be asked again on a Host's domain.

If a page links to, or includes content from, another website or service, such as an embedded video, that website or service may set its own cookies under its own policies.

5. Our mobile apps

Our mobile apps store your sign-in details and settings on your device, and send crash and error reports so we can fix faults. If you allow notifications, the apps use OneSignal to deliver push notifications. OneSignal gives your device an identifier and may record whether notifications were delivered and opened. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.

6. How to control cookies

  • Our banner: when you first visit, you can Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. Declining does not affect essential cookies or error monitoring.
  • Changing your choice: your choice is saved in your browser, not in your Panelist account, so it applies only to that browser and stays when you sign out. To choose again, clear the cookies and site data for panelist.com, or for the event domain you were using, in your browser settings, then reload the page and the banner will ask you again. Clearing site data also signs you out and resets your settings in that browser.
  • Your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Service, including signing in, will not work.
  • Google: you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
  • Emails: to stop pixels, turn off automatic image loading in your email app. You can unsubscribe from our marketing at any time using the link or instructions in a message, or by emailing us. To stop emails from a Host or another sender, follow the instructions in its message or contact that sender.
  • Do Not Track: Panelist does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Use our banner instead.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we change the cookies we use. The updated policy applies from when we publish it.
